And so my Basket Weave Rib socks were born. They are a simple textured design, but not BORING to knit like plain old rib, and not overly taxing like some of the gorgeous sock patterns out there. These socks are perfect for knitting in front of the TV, or at kids swimming lessons, or at knit night where you don't want to be looking at a chart every row. They are stretchy and cosy and I am really proud of my first sock pattern!
This pattern has been tech edited and test knit and I am releasing them as a free pattern - who doesn't love a good, free, sock pattern??
So pop on over to Ravelry, and give my sock pattern a try!

These lovely yellow ones are knit in my favourite Vintage Purls Sock , I do realise I go on about this yarn a little, but its the best I have found so why not use it over and over and over and over again!

Congrats on your first sock pattern, I cant wait to try it. This might be the push to get back into more sock knitting. Thanks for making it free Sarah.
ReplyDeleteThey look great :) I need to get some more sock yarn so I can give them a go!
ReplyDeleteLove these! And I think I have just the yarn for them.
ReplyDeleteThat bright yellow is so perfect for winter! Such a bright spot.
ReplyDeleteI just love these. The pattern is a classic and I bet it's fun to knit too. They are the perfect unisex socks - you need some male feet in some! I'll make a pair for Mr Myrtle :)

ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful! I'm adding them to my queue immediately. I only hope I can do your pattern justice when I knit it. They look so incredible in yellow!
ReplyDeleteThese make me so happy to see, it is probably the combination of a sunny yellow and the nice texture of the stitch pattern. I'll certainly be knitting these sometime in the future.
ReplyDeleteOh yay, congrats on the lovely new pattern!
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful! I've only made plain socks; the thought of a textured pattern is so intimidating. Well done!
ReplyDeleteWonderful. I was just knitting a pair of socks that required attention. It really limited my knitting ability. This pair looks perfect.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your sock pattern for free. I may just have to take the plunge. After I knit myself a sweater.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the lovely free pattern! I am heading over to Ravelry right now!
