~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? ~
It's Wednesday!
I don;t have a lot on the needles that I can show you at the moment, I'm working on a couple of patterns, but soon!
I have also been knitting away on my Blanket - its progressing, and I'm still finding it an addictive knit, as you can see I have a few ends to work in, if you have a suggested method, when there isn't an inside, feel free to share!
I'm reading 'The Language of Flowers' which I reserved after reading about on another yarnalong blog, sadly I can't recall who... anyway I started it last night and I'm over half way through, which is a sign that this is a book I am enjoying :)
I'm still reading 'Wholefood for the family' as well, I bought some specific ingredients today so will try out some recipes soon!
I hope you are having a lovely Wednesday!
It was me! I loved that book so much.
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking about your blanket project all week. I have so much scrap yarn, I really should put it to some use.
I just recently read that book, too. I enjoyed it very, very much and the fact that I found it at a thrift store for 50 cents made it even better. ;-)
ReplyDeleteYour blanket is going to be awesome. Maybe I should start using up my leftover yarn and start something like that...
ooh pretty stripey blanket, and that book sounds awesome - I'll have to look into getting it!!! have a knitty wednesday xx
ReplyDeleteThe blanket is coming along nicely! The Wholefood for the Family looks really good too! I will have to search for it at the library...I can't seem to find it on amazon :-)
ReplyDeleteThat blanket looks so fun! The ends though... yikes! I don't envy you there. I would call it fringe for awhile, and then weave in the ends here and there while I was using the blanket. But I'm a lazy knitter, so grain of salt ;)
ReplyDeleteI love the blanket, it looks lovely. I really should make one sometime :)
ReplyDeleteReading: Made From Scratch (Discover the Pleasures of a Handmade Life) by Jenna Woginrich
ReplyDeleteKnitting: Hudson Bay-inspired blanket for DH
Stitching: A kitchen towel with a flower picture on it
Cooking: Vegan Sweet Potato Lentil Soup
Your blanket is going to be very cheerful with all those beautiful colors. When I have lots of ends to weave in, I try to weave in along the same color line and go back and forth through the stitches copying the line ---- it doesn't show too bad that way.
I love how your blanket is knitting up. It's going to be so snuggly given it's garter stitch
ReplyDeleteyour blanket is looking good, don't envy you the sewing in on ends though
ReplyDeleteI've got a subscription to Easton Press'100 greatest books, so I'm trying to read and re-read them as they arrive. I'm behind. I'm on Gulliver's Travels now. As for knitting.... there's a lot of chaos.
ReplyDeleteYour blanket looks great. The colors are really wonderful together.
About how many design projects do you typically have going at one time? It just seems like you are always overflowing with creativity and inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI'm knitting a large beaded cape and listening to an audiobook of Pride and Prejudice. I love the look of your blanket, and wholeheartedly agree with the suggestion to call the ends "fringe" and leave them be! Are you arranging the colors in a deliberate pattern beforehand or grabbing whichever color yarn comes to hand next?
ReplyDeleteOh I have a serious culinary crush on Jude Blereau. With the food restrictions in our family her recipes literally changed my life. The knitting looks great too!
