I have been reading the Fresh Stitches blog for a while now and oogling over all of Stacy's gorgeous creations and wishing I could make them. Well with my new found confidence I decided to give it a go. I chose a free pattern to begin with, just in case it was a disaster and I ended up throwing it all away. But it was not.
I made the first 2 wee ears wrong, getting muddled between UK and US crochet terminology.
As well as being a wonderfully written pattern, with lots of clear instructions, Stacy also has a LOT of helpful video tutorials on her website. You can search them, and I did - many times. How to sew pieces together, how to do the slippy slip knot, how to embroider the mouth, and more.
My first Lark came together really quickly - surprisingly so. I actually discovered I loved doing something that wasn't knitting. That took a bit more concentration but wasn't tricky. That required counting. That wasn't my own design/pattern/prototype!

Definitely not perfect, but good enough I'll definitely be having another go at some more amigurumi soon!
