Today I have been enjoying a pleasant afternoon with my 4y old. She was in need of some special one on one time, so there has been some sushi, some Hungry Hippos and some nail painting. And I think her wee tank has been refueled.
It may seem silly, but I think she has been a wee bit worried about my return to the paid workforce. Yes that is right, I am officially a teacher again! I am doing casual relieving and actually my first day was yesterday, but I guess to a 4y old that has ALWAYS had a stay at home Mum, it seems a bit daunting that Mum might not be the one to pick her up from Kindy every day. I am in absolutely no hurry to return to full-time work, and will just enjoy the casualness for a while I think!
(And WHEN would I knit with a full time teaching job? I don't think I'd have a chance!)
As well as some special Mummy time, I am also knitting for the wee lovely at the moment - a lovely twirly Pirouette Skirt. I decided a 4ply skirt would be best for my wee munchkin as she hates to be hot, and we are heading into Summer, Green was requested, and I have added hot pink stripes - both in the hope she will wear it more, and also to have enough yarn.
|The Green was reclaimed from a Frogged knit - which is why it looks a bit messy!|
There is quite a lot more knitting to go, but its lovely easy stocking stitch and the stripes always help to keep my interest!
I am still reading the book from last week 'Mokola'i' and I am really enjoying it. I just need some time to sit down and finish it!
